Tonight I have been scanning in some old negatives from when I was in high school. I was not much of a photographer back then, but I did like to take pictures. I noticed that I did not take many pictures of the same thing at one time. Digital allows you to take as many photos as you want, while film limited you a little more. While I greatly enjoy not being limited to the number of photos, I think that film did make me slow down a little. Slowing down to look at what is around you is a great way to make sure that you are not missing something. Looking at different angles and taking time to compose the shot will make it more than just a snap shot. I am going to set a goal of slowing down and putting a little more planning into each photograph.
